In 2009, according to latest figures from researchers reported last year that 2 million people in the United States for melanoma 3.5 million (mainly basal cell or squamous) skin cancer were treated.

These cancers can be treated easily if he has made early, but the entrenched view tanning as a beautiful and healthy public health problem.

Skin cancer is the commonest cancer in men, and the growth rates have attracted recent attention and concern of the medical community.

The new results showed that the treatment of cancer in Medicare patients increased by another 2.4% between 2006 and 2007, 2.5% between 2007 and 2008, more than 1.6 additional in 2009.

The number of treatments for non-melanoma skin cancer is considered a good indicator for the total cancers. This, say the researchers, so that their offer to work on the real numbers, we have been to this particular type of cancer.

In its final estimate of the researchers analyzed Medicare claims to the total number of treatments for skin cancer among Medicare patients, while the figures calculated for the general population.

In an earlier report showed the transmission of cancer by around 4% per year between 1992 and 2006. If things such as the skin cancer melanoma were thought will continue to double in the next two decades.

The cost in terms of money alone is enormous. The diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, the individual cost of more than $ 2000. This is the total cost of reported cases in 2009 to make more than U.S. $ 8500000000th

One of the most disturbing aspects of the cancer problem is that the numbers will likely increase. The reason? Often there is a delay of at least 20 years of sun damage and the appearance of a cancerous tumor. This means that for many of us, and skin damage was done.
