Skin Cancer - Do You Know What To Look For?

By Karen M Fox

Skin cancer is increasing, and about 20% of Americans experience some form in your life.

What are the reasons for these results? Ozone depletion and the people refuse to use sun protection factors. But more people are being considered, so that more cases detected than ever before.

More than one family member treated mild cases, so my doctor tried to remain vigilant when it comes to my skin.

A self-test is easy to do, and an important clue in early detection. Start with areas that are still on display, including head and neck area. Men should also carefully observe the baldness. Everyone is at risk, regardless of skin color but people with blond hair, bright eyes with a high risk group.

The most common forms of skin cancer are basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma. If treated early, often create more problems. Melanoma is the most severe form of the disease. Often in newly exposed skin with the arrival of good weather, as found in the back and legs, people lose heavier clothing shorts and summer dresses.

Tanning is always a very important factor in the setting of a melanoma. Regular users of this practice are 75% more likely to achieve this, the most dangerous form of the disease. Only the United States, more than a million people regularly use sunbeds, and the number is rising. Calls on Congress to add a tax of 10% percent, which will generate billions of dollars, and I hope people think twice before using them.

If you have an abnormality in the skin that does not stop within 30 days can not be found, take a look to their physician.

Check your skin regularly. Look for moles with irregular shapes. Are there cracks or "cabbage" as its limitations? Mole has changed, or is irregular in color? Find all the changes again, as a mole that has grown in size.

Remember to put sunscreen at least half an hour before going out. Cancer Society recommends an SPF of 30 or more. Sun UVA and UVB rays cause wrinkles, sunburn, both can cause cancer. Look for a sunscreen that you apply and take as much as it would fill an egg cup itself, and protects a child. Once applied, do not forget, every two hours again to enjoy time outdoors.
